Canal Helicopter Tour Itinerary
We take off from Marcos A. Gelabert Airport in Albrook, Panama City.
We can leave on any day of the week between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. as long as the helicopter is available.
After fastening our seat belts and ascending, we visualize the Canal Administration Building and Cerro Ancón.
We head towards the Bridge of the Americas to start this great adventure flying over the entrance to the Panama Canal.
We follow the route and see the millions of containers and the large operating cranes that are in the Port of Balboa.
Miraflores Locks
As the first official stop of the tour we present the first set of locks, the Miraflores locks.
Then, we pass over Miraflores Lake, this is a small freshwater lake that separates the two sets of locks on the Pacific side of the canal until we reach the Pedro Miguel Locks.
Pedro Miguel Locks
10 minutes later we see the second set of locks, the Pedro Miguel locks.
Following the route we fly over Gatun Lake, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world, built specifically to supply water to the Panama Canal.
Agua Clara Locks
Finally, we fly in the direction of the Agua Clara Locks, located near the City of Colón (Panamanian Atlantic) that is part of the recent expansion works of the Panama Canal inaugurated on June 26, 2016.
